Tian'anmen Square, Forbidden City and more

Today was another busy day but thankfully it was not as hot as yesterday. We went to Tian'anmen Square and the Forbidden City which was wonderful to see. It required a lot of walking again so by the end of the day we were all pretty tired. It was also very crowded with tourists but our guide Cindy knew the important places to stand for good pictures. We also took a Hutong tour which consisted of riding in a pedi-cab taking us around an old Beijing neighborhood. Next we went to the Pearl Market and shopped around. There were many souvenirs to shop for in addition to pearls. Here are some pictures of our day.

Once we got back we had a dinner with the group and had a 2 hour seminar about China. There is another family that arrived today to join our group. It has been raining tonight and it is supposed to rain for the next few days. Tomorrow is our last full day In Beijing and then we are off to Nanchang on Sunday to get Emma Kate. Thanks again for all the emails. I am able to get them periodically but am having some trouble responding to them. Please know that we appreciate all your thoughts and well wishes!
